This bachelor of business economics degree, informed by UNESCO's framework, will teach you to make responsible business decisions and address local and global challenges in evolving economic environments. You will study cutting-edge economic theories and concepts, enhancing your analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills. Our BSc (Hons) Business Economics course includes a decolonised curriculum that embraces diverse perspectives, challenges traditional paradigms and helps you develop a broad understanding with real-world applications. This is a gateway course, which can launch your career in business economics without the need for a degree in a heavily mathematical subject. You do not need prior knowledge of business or economics to apply. UWL’s business economics course opens doors to a wide range of global opportunities, with our graduates working in financial institutions, data engineering, consultancy firms and more. Accreditation This course is accredited by CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants). This accreditation means that students who complete the degree are automatically exempt from the four exams of the Certificate in Business Accounting (BA1–BA4). As a result, graduates can progress directly to the Operational Level of the CIMA Professional Qualification. Internship course option You can choose to take this course with a one-year internship at the end of your second year (Level 5). Upon completion of your placement year, you will resume your final year of studies. The internship will give you a combination of knowledge, experience and soft and technical skills that will put you in a prime position to build a successful career in business. In this course, you will delve into the intricacies of business and economics in a globalised world, gaining a comprehensive understanding of contemporary issues that shape these fields. This will equip you with the professional skills necessary to embark on a fulfilling career. You will examine core concepts in business and economics, as well as topical subjects, including: - analytical skills in economics - economics of climate change - economics of financial markets - behavioural economics - international economics - economic decisions faced by businesses and managers - how to analyse the economic and social environment that informs those decisions. The business economics degree includes a diverse range of modules to help you find your specialism, identify your career goals, and work towards them. Once you graduate, you will be able to focus on a particular business area. For your final year dissertation, you have the exciting opportunity to choose between a traditional academic dissertation or an investigative final project. The latter option allows you to tackle practical business economics-related problems, applying the knowledge and skills you've acquired throughout the course to real-world scenarios.
