The BA (Hons) English Language and English Literature at University of Manchester is a undergraduate programme designed for students passionate about bridging cultural boundaries. Our BA English Language and English Literature joint honours course will enable you to delve into the science of language while exploring a wide range of texts dating from a variety of periods. You will be taken on a broadly chronological journey of English Literature from the Anglo-Saxon period through to the present day. In addition, you will investigate the sounds, words and grammar of the English language, and you will discover where English comes from, how it developed over time, how it varies across the UK and further afield, and how it is used in different situations. A minimum ielts score of 6.0 is required for admission.
