BEng (Hons.) Civil with Environmental Engineering

The course, Civil with Environmental Engineering BEng(Hons), offered by the University of Brighton is geared towards equipping students with the relevant knowledge and skills needed in the engineering sector. It combines environmental engineering to provide an understanding of key factors affecting environmental sustainability to produce civil engineers capable of making a significant contribution in the field. Course Content: Throughout the course, students are exposed to practical learning opportunities. They will engage in group projects and lab-based activities, make site visits, use industry-standard software, equipment and processes, and participate in design exercises and construction challenges. Students have the opportunity to gain work experience or study abroad for a year as part of their degree, giving them real-world experience in their chosen field.Key Modules: The course covers a diverse number of modules such as Mathematics for Civil and Environmental Engineers, Fundamental Principles for Civil Engineers, Engineering Geology and Geotechnics, Structural Mechanics and Materials, and Floods, Contaminants and the Environment among others.Accreditations: The course is professionally accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM), which includes the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Structural Engineers. Graduates will have the foundation for becoming Incorporated Engineers or Chartered Engineers.Future Careers: Graduates of this course will have the opportunity to pursue careers in civil engineering in both the private and public sectors. This could include working in structural design, environmental engineering, transportation, water resources, or construction.
