Our Vice-Chancellor international undergraduate scholarships are automatically granted to students from specific regions. The total award is £5,500 across a standard three-year undergraduate course.
We offer the following scholarships for international undergraduate students domiciled in the below regions:
South and South-East Asia undergraduate scholarship
Africa undergraduate scholarship
MENA and Turkey undergraduate scholarship
LATAM undergraduate scholarship
EU undergraduate scholarship.
These scholarships are open to students studying within any of our academic schools, excluding Brighton and Sussex Medical School.
Scholarships are awarded as a £2,500 reduction on tuition fees for the first year of study, which is automatically deducted after enrolment to students that meet the eligibility criteria. You will also receive a £1,500 reduction on your second-year tuition fees, and a further £1,500 reduction on your third-year tuition fees.
Who is eligible
You must meet all of the below eligibility criteria:
be a new, international fee-status student domiciled in one of the eligible countries/regions*
have accepted your offer for a full-time undergraduate degree
be starting your course in September 2025
be a self-funded student
if you are in receipt of a conditional offer, you must meet the conditions of your offer
have paid your tuition fee deposit
have applied for your CAS by the deadline.
*If you currently reside in the UK but your domicile address is in an eligible country, you are eligible for the scholarship provided you meet all other criteria.
Eligible countries/regions:
South and South-East Asia: Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam.
Africa: all countries.
MENA and Turkey: Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Yemen.
LATAM: Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, Venezuela.
EU: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden.
You will not be eligible if:
you are joining a course at a University of Brighton partner college or affiliate institution, such as East Sussex College Group
you are progressing to the University of Brighton from a foundation certificate or international year one course at the University of Brighton International College (UBIC)
you are an applicant for Brighton and Sussex Medical School
you are receiving funding from external bodies such as local government, charities or private organisations (students receiving funding in the form of a loan will be eligible, providing all other criteria is met)
you are joining us from a partner institution where an existing fee discount agreement is in place.
Disclaimer
You can only be in receipt of one University of Brighton scholarship and scholarships cannot be combined. If you are eligible for more than one scholarship, the highest amount will be awarded.
The Vice-Chancellor international undergraduate scholarship will be automatically deducted from your first year of tuition fees after you enrol at the university.
If you are a new undergraduate student joining us in September 2025, you will also receive a £1,500 tuition fee reduction on your second-year and third-year fees.
If you're studying a top-up degree, you'll receive a £2,500 reduction in your tuition fee (provided you meet the other criteria).
