The MRes Evolution and Genomics course offered by The University of East Anglia covers concepts in evolutionary and genomic science. This research-intensive course is ideal for anyone looking to gain intensive research training in the field of evolution and genomics. Course Content: This one-year, full-time, research-focused course covers a broad range of topics. Initial training in research skills and in-depth subject-specific training prepare students for their research project that represents a substantial part of the programme. The programme encompasses a broad range of topics including evolutionary biology, genome evolution, bioinformatics, population genetics, phylogenetics, ecological genetics, quantitative genetics, conservation genetics and transcriptomics.Key Modules: The course includes modules like Research Skills, Frontiers in Evolution and Genomic Sciences, and an individual research project which accounts for about two-thirds of the MRes.Future Careers: Graduates of this course can pursue doctorate studies or research careers in academia, industry, or the public sector. They may also take up roles in conservation, bioinformatics and computational biology, evolutionary and ecological consultancy, public health research and genetic counselling.
