BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science

BSc Paramedic Science, offered by the University of East Anglia, is a full-time, three-year degree providing students with a robust knowledge of the paramedic field. The course combines theoretical and practical study, developing the necessary skills, attitudes, and behaviours to practice as qualified paramedics. Course Content: The course content consists of both academic and practice-based learning spread over six semesters. It begins with foundational studies in clinical skillsets, biomedical and social sciences. As students progress, they delve further into fields such as public health and leadership. In the final phase, they will focus on complex areas such as pharmacology and clinical decision-making. Key Modules: Students will engage in modules like Foundations of Paramedic Practice, Introduction to Paraclinical Skills, Clinical Practice for Paramedics, and Leadership for Paramedics. They will also be exposed to Simulation & Inter-Professional Learning, Pharmacology for Paramedic Practice, and Critical Decision Making. Accreditations: The BSc Paramedic Science course is approved by the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the College of Paramedics. Graduates are eligible to apply for registration with the HCPC, allowing them to practice as paramedics. Future Careers: Many graduates of the BSc Paramedic Science program work in the pre-hospital environment, within the NHS or Independent sector.
