BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy

The BSc Occupational Therapy course at the University of East Anglia (UEA) is a full-time, three-year undergraduate degree focused on training students to become fully qualified occupational therapists. The course integrates theoretical study and clinical practice, with more than 1000 hours of professional practice placements included. Course Content: The course curriculum covers a range of topics, offering students an understanding of human development, psychological and social changes, as well as the impact of illness and disability. Students will learn how to evaluate a client's everyday tasks and responsibilities, and devise ways to give them more independence and control over their lives. Key Modules: The key modules in this course include Foundations of Occupational Therapy, The Occupation of Living, Understanding People and Organisations, and Practising Professionally. In the final year, students will also undertake a research project on a topic of their choosing related to occupational therapy. Accreditations: Upon successful completion of the course, students will be eligible to apply for professional registration as occupational therapists, as this course is approved by both the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).Future Careers: Graduates of this BSc course can expect to find opportunities in a variety of settings, including hospitals, social services, community care, primary care trusts, and charitable organisations.
