The BSc Marine Sciences at the University of East Anglia is a three-year undergraduate course starting in September that invites you to explore the natural processes of marine systems and their interaction with the Earth's environment. This academically rigorous course takes a holistic approach to learning, integrating various science disciplines to provide a broad understanding of the marine environment.Course Content: The course content is laid out over three years. The first year covers introductory marine sciences and study skills along with fundamental science. In the second year, students will develop their marine skills and scientific knowledge in topics including oceanography and marine biology. The final year of the degree is specialized, enabling students to focus on their areas of interest from a range of module choices. Key Modules: Some of the major modules in the course include The Blue Planet, Ocean Circulation and Climate Change, Coastal Ocean Processes and Management, Biological Oceanography, Marine Pollution Ecology, and Applied Marine Biology and Policy.Accreditations: The BSc Marine Sciences course is accredited by the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science & Technology (IMarEST) and also recognized by the Royal Society of Biology for the purpose of fully meeting the educational requirement for Registered Marine Scientist (RMarSci).Future Careers: After undertaking this course, students can explore various career paths. They may work in conservation and habitat management, environmental policy and legislation, marine resource management, marine environmental consultancy, marine biological and geological surveying.
