BEng (Hons) Computer Systems Engineering

The BEng Computer Systems Engineering course at the University of East Anglia is a three-year full-time undergraduate degree that gives students an understanding of modern computer systems from ground level to advanced design and management. Designed for both personal computers and distributed systems, students will be equipped to explore the technical and managerial aspects of computing.Course Content: The course introduces learners to core concepts of digital electronics and computer systems, providing them a deep understanding of hardware and software functioning and relationships. Students will be trained to comprehend the intricate details of designing, managing, and implementing secure networks and databases. Advanced modules will enable students to handle the intricacies of cloud systems, and create intricate web and mobile applications.Key Modules: The course covers subjects such as Programming for Applications, Rapid Development Systems, Computer Architecture and Networks, Electronics and Interfacing, Advanced Computer Systems, High Speed Devices and Applications.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partly meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.Future Careers: Graduates have found employment in a wide range of roles within the industry, including software engineering, network design and management, and web development.
