BA (Hons) International Development

The BA International Development course offered by the University of East Anglia (UEA) allows students to understand and analyse the historical and contemporary world of international development. It covers three key areas – economic development, social development and environmental sustainability. The course offers an interdisciplinary approach that blends both theory and practice, and lets you explore numerous global challenges and dilemmas. Course Content: Students of this course will be exposed to a range of interdisciplinary perspectives. This includes an in-depth coverage of the historical, political, economic and social dimensions of international development. The curriculum incorporates both theoretical understanding and practical skills, with an emphasis on research and field work. The course also allows students to opt for a year abroad.Key Modules: The coursework includes key modules such as Development Economics; Environment, Society and Development Today; and Issues in Contemporary Development. In the final year, students undertake a major research project on a development issue of their choice. Accreditations: The course is accredited by the National Rural Universities Association (NRUA) and the International Development Universities Network (IDUN). Future Careers: The course equips students with skills ideal for careers in global development organizations, NGOs, government departments, and the private sector.
