The BA Creative Writing and English Literature course at the University of East Anglia is designed for students who wish to gain expertise in literature and hone their creative writing skills. It exposes students to a wide range of literature and allows them to understand the rich context of literary tradition, while also prioritising the development of their writing abilities.Course Content: The course content includes studying the underlying principles of literature, as well as the craft of writing. Evaluating writing and understanding the relationship between authors, texts, and readers forms an integral part of this course. It also covers the techniques and strategies used by established writers and allows students to develop these skills in their own writing.Key Modules: Core modules include Reading Texts: Literary Theory, Literature in History and The Writing Business in the first year. In the second year, the core modules are Writing in the City and Literature and Modernity: 1890-Present.
