MA Fine Art

The Fine Art MA course at UCLan is designed for artists who want to develop their professional art practice through advanced theoretical studies, research and critical thinking. The course starts with a module in Research Methods for Artists, Designers and Makers. Followed by this, the course comprises of two project modules, and a final module which will culminate in the realisation of a major piece of practical or theoretical work. Each module includes teaching, learning and assessment strategies that encourage independence as well as a systematic understanding of the field of Fine Art.Key Modules: Some key modules covered in the course include Research and Practice 1, Project 1, Research and Practice 2, and Project 2 (MA Final Project). Future Careers: This MA course could lead to many employment opportunities involving problem solving and the application of complex ideas in a variety of professional situations. Graduates may progress to PhD study, may continue their involvement with art practice, and may set up their own studios, exhibit in galleries, museums, and online, and manage their own art business creating and selling their own work.
