The Mechatronics & Intelligent Machines BEng (Hons) course at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is a blend of mechanical engineering, electronics, computer systems and intelligent control. This course is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of smart, automated and robot systems.Course Content: The course structure aims to provide you with practical know-how around mechatronics, artificial intelligence and automation. They'll equip you with the skills you need to design, manufacture and operate intelligent machines. The course includes a range of advanced levels of robotics, automation and mechatronics as well as aspects of artificial intelligence, programming and simulation.Key Modules: Some of the key modules you get to study include Mechatronics, Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Robotics, Programming and Simulation.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partly meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.Future Careers: After completion of the course, students go on to work in a variety of roles in research and development, automation, control and robotics, design or software engineering.
