Course Content: The course combines practical reporting techniques, hands-on journalism activities, and academic insight into contemporary media issues. Training is provided in writing, broadcast journalism, and also multi-skills including media law and ethics. Students learn how to write news, features, and opinion, edit in print and online, present and produce on radio, shoot and edit TV, and create content for online and mobile.Key Modules: Core subjects of the course include Introduction to Broadcast Journalism, Essentials of Journalism, Newsdays, Mobile Journalism, Undergraduate Dissertation, and Media Ethics. Optional subjects include Sports Journalism, Magazine Journalism, Investigative Journalism, International Journalism, Lifestyle Journalism, and Media Innovation.Accreditations: This programme is accredited by the Broadcast Journalism Training Council (BJTC) and the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ).Future Careers: Journalism BA offers several paths that could lead to a career in media organizations such as newspapers, magazines, TV and radio stations, online/mobile platforms, or freelance work.
