BA (Hons) Interior Design

The Interior Design BA course at the University of Central Lancashire offers an extensive and well put-together programme that trains and nurtures creative minds to think more spatially and practically within the ever-changing world of contemporary interior design. It also provides students with the professional skills expected by the industry and allows them to explore their own creativity, developing ideas from initial concepts to fully detailed design solutions.Course Content: This course spans diverse topics from the basics of interior design to more advanced modules, incorporating learning through a balance of theoretical, vocational, and design-based activities. Students will learn about creative thinking, problem solving, drawing, and digital presentation, as well as more advanced aspects such as design in cultural context and professional practice in interior design. Key Modules: Some key modules include 'Introduction to Interior Design', 'Sustainable and Technological Influences in Interior Design', 'Digital Presentation Techniques for Interior Design', 'Design in a Cultural Context', and 'Professional Practice in Interior Design'.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Chartered Society of Designers (CSD) and the British Institute of Interior Design (BIID).Future Careers: Previous graduates have gone on to work in architectural and interior design practices, retail and commercial design, exhibition design, and television and film set design.
