BA Hons Creative Writing

Anglia Ruskin University offers an undergraduate course in Creative Writing. This course aims to inspire and foster a love for storytelling enabling students to practice and enhance their writing skills in a dynamic and inspiring environment. Students have the opportunity to explore different types of writing, from screenwriting to fiction, while also being able to experiment with their own portfolio of creative work.Course Content: The course comprises numerous opportunities to try out various forms of writing, from novels and plays to song lyrics. It focuses on building writing skills and improving the craft over time. The course also includes regular reading and discussions on a broad variety of works which give students an eclectic knowledge of literature.Key Modules: The course includes key modules such as Introduction to Writing Prose, Introduction to Writing Poetry, Introduction to Dramatic Writing among other modules. There is also freedom for students to pick modules that suit their interests, allowing them to focus either solely on their favored form of writing or diversify their writing skills.Accreditations: The course, while being a full-time undergraduate programme, also provides students with the option to study part-time.Future Careers: Following the completion of the course, students are expected to have developed an impressive portfolio of work, enabling them to pursue a wide range of careers in writing including copywriting, editing, freelance writing, scriptwriting, and teaching.
