The BA (Hons) Illustration course at the University of Gloucestershire encourages students to explore different media possibilities and create a personal artistic style. The course aims to shape innovative illustrators with a versatile approach to media and context. The course equips the students with the skills and understanding to create illustrations for a diverse range of sectors.Course Content: The course is divided into three stages namely, Stage 1 (Level 4) Initiation, Stage 2 (Level 5) Exploration and Stage 3 (Level 6) Resolution. Each stage of the course offers modules that puts focus on important aspects of illustrations such as context, themes, forms, narratives, and many more. The teaching methodology includes workshops, presentations, individual and group tutorials and seminars. Key Modules: The modules cover areas such as Artistic Conception, Methods, and Context, Themes and Concepts: Initiation to Illustration, Illustrative Form and Content: Development, and Resolution: Personal Practice in Illustration. The students also have the opportunity of a year-long or short-term placement as part of 'Global Experience Opportunities' and 'Internship' modules, respectively.Future Careers: After completing the course, students can enter careers as illustrators, artist's agents, freelance illustrators, or choose to continue their studies to gain master's qualifications.
