MSc Advanced Manipulative Physiotherapy

The Advanced Manipulative Physiotherapy MSc, offered by the University of Birmingham, is designed to provide physiotherapy graduates with a focused programme of study in the theoretical and practical aspects of the specialist area of manipulative physiotherapy. The course is part of the globally respected MACP (Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists) postgraduate pathway. Course Content: This full-time course over 12 months is divided into five taught modules: musculoskeletal clinical reasoning and practice, advanced theory of musculoskeletal manipulative practice, advanced practice in health care research and leadership, prolonged independent study module, and advanced clinical reasoning in musculoskeletal manipulative physiotherapy. Key Modules: The core modules of the course include Advanced Practice in Health and Social Care, Musculoskeletal Clinical Reasoning and Practice – Lumbar Spine and Lower Extremity, Advanced Theory of Musculoskeletal Manipulative Practice – The Upper Quadrant, Musculoskeletal Clinical Reasoning and Practice – Cervical Spine and Thoracic Spine/Core and Prolonged Independent Study Module (Research).Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (MACP).
