MA History (Global History)

The Global History MA program at the University of Birmingham is a specialized program that encourages students to explore complex historical processes, events and phenomena deemed globally significant. The course is designed to develop students’ research skills and prepare them for a future in academic research and other sectors. Course Content: The program offers a wide range of modules, allowing students to explore a plethora of historical topics and periods from a global perspective. Students will be engaged in seminars, collaborative projects and a substantial independent research project or dissertation.Key Modules: Modules include State, Society and Culture in the Modern World; World Histories: Contact, Conflict and Culture from Ancient to Modern; Research Methods and Skills in History and many more. Additionally, students have the option of doing a work placement or internship module to gain practical experience.Future Careers: The course provides an excellent platform to pursue a variety of career paths.
