BSc Economics with Spanish

The BSc Economics with Spanish course at the University of Birmingham is an undergraduate program that combines the study of Spanish language and culture with the theory and practice of Economics. The course is designed to enhance the students' economic understanding, language proficiency and cultural knowledge. Course Content: The study course is spread over four years with the third year being spent abroad. The economics part of the course will be covering topics such as economic theory, research and social issues, while the Spanish part will provide you comprehensive knowledge in Spanish language, literature, culture and society. The first two years provide a foundation in core economics and Spanish modules. During the third year, students will be placed in a Spanish-speaking country to enhance their cultural understanding and language skills. In the fourth year, students will return to select from more specialized and advanced modules.Key Modules: Core modules include Principles of Macroeconomics and Microeconomics, Quantitative Methods, Spanish language, The Making of Modern Spain and Contemporary Latin America. In the final years, specialist modules can include Topics in Money and Banking, Industrial Economics, Health Economics, Financial Investments, Advanced Hispanic Studies and many more.Future Careers: Graduates of this program have been successful in a wide variety of sectors including accountancy, banking, consultancy, business analysis, and public service.
