BEng Engineering

The Engineering BEng course offered by the University of Birmingham is designed to provide a hands-on experience, with a focus on problem-solving situation at real-world industry level. The students will not only have the opportunity to get exposure to theory fundamentals, but also participate in design-led learning and research-centred projects. This course aims to furnish students with the skills needed to succeed in the increasingly globalised engineering sector.Course Content: The course encompasses a range of modules, offering a comprehensive exposure to core principles and advanced topics in engineering branches such as mechanical, civil, and electrical. This course also includes optional modules which allow specialising in preferred areas. It covers theoretical knowledge and practical training, team projects, practical lab sessions, and individual assignments.Key Modules: Some of the key modules include Design for Manufacture, Smart Systems for Transportation, Renewable and Nuclear Energy, Control Systems, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, and Bioengineering. Accreditations: The Engineering BEng course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of fully meeting the academic requirement for registration as an Incorporated Engineer and partly meeting the academic requirement for registration as a Chartered Engineer.Future Careers: On the completion of the course, students can seek career opportunities across a wide spectrum of the engineering industry, including automotive, aerospace, civil, electrical and electronic, or mechanical engineering.
