The Joint BA (Hons) Education and Sociology program at the University of Birmingham delves into the relationship between education and society, honing skills in qualitative and quantitative research, critical thinking and argumentation. The first year comprises of introducing students to Sociology and Education topics such as Education in Britain. The second and third years consist of in-depth exploration of modules like 'Educational Foundations and Policy', 'Classical Sociological Thought' and 'Contemporary Sociological Theory'. In addition, the program offers the opportunity for students to undertake an independent research project in their final year.
