The French Studies BA (Hons) course at the University of Birmingham offers a complex understanding of contemporary French and Francophone cultures. Students are encouraged to examine the language, culture, history, politics, and literatures of France and the French-speaking world, as well as taking part in a year abroad in a French-speaking country.Course Content: This course provides an integrated program of study that allows students to combine theoretical academic learning with practical real-world experience. The course focuses on improving the four essential language skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. The full time course duration is 4 years and includes an obligatory year spent working or studying in a French-speaking country.Key Modules: Some of the key modules include Advanced French Studies I, Introduction to French Studies, Beginners' French I, Advanced French II and many more. During the third year, students will be offered placements in schools or internships, to experience culture immersion.
