The Joint Honours BA in Classical Literature and Civilization and Philosophy at the University of Birmingham offers students the opportunity to explore, criticize and appreciate the literature and thought of ancient Greece and Rome, while it provides a philosophical grounding in ethics, epistemology and metaphysics. This course spans over three years and encourages students to develop their analytical skills, critical thinking and independence.Course Content: The curriculum provides students with an understanding of classical literature and civilization along with the investigation of philosophy. In the first year, students gain a thorough grounding in both subjects then have the flexibility to specialize in their areas of interest in the following years.
