The Psychology and Education Conversion MSc at the University of Sheffield is a two-year, part-time course designed for students who want to practice as educational psychologists and did not study psychology as part of their undergraduate degree. This course provides a broad and critical awareness of psychological theory and practice. Course Content: The MSc provides grounding in the theory, themes, issues and practical skills central to psychological research in the social sciences. The course includes applying psychological theory to the understanding of the education of children and young people, understanding research in educational and social sciences, applying psychological theory to understand a range of educational issues, educational research methods, and a dissertation.Key Modules: Some of the core modules include Applying Psychological Theories to Educational Issues, The Child in Society, Qualitative Methods in Social and Educational Research, Quantitative Methods in Social and Educational Research, and Dissertation in Psychology and/or Education.Future Careers: Graduates from this course can work in a wide range of settings such as schools, educational psychology services, local authority advisory roles, child and adolescent mental health services, voluntary sector roles supporting children and young people, further and higher education, and research roles.
