The Physician Associate Studies MMedSci course offered by the University of Sheffield is a full-time, two-year intensive course designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge required to undertake the role of a Physician Associate (PA). The course offers a blend of comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical application in a clinical setting.Course Content: The course content is centered on medical science and its clinical application. It spans over a two-year duration comprising five semesters. The first year is integrated to provide a scientific understanding of medical practice. It includes anatomy with dissection, physiology, disease mechanisms, pharmacology, social and behavioural sciences and clinical skills. In the second year, students consolidate their scientific understanding while learning to apply this in a series of clinical rotations in general practice and secondary care. Key Modules: The course comprises modules such as Foundations of Clinical Practice for the Physician Associate, Science and Theoretical Principles Demonstration of Integrated and Applied Basic Medical and Social Sciences, and Research Methods and Introduction to Evidence-based Medicine.
