MSc Occupational Psychology

The Occupational Psychology MSc offered by the University of Sheffield is an intensive, full-time course that covers the full breadth of occupational psychology, including the psychology of leadership and team performance, work motivation and satisfaction, assessment and selection of staff, processes of organisational change, work-related stress, and the impacts of unemployment and job loss. The course integrates professional skills training (such as interview and test administration, understanding focus groups, and problem-solving) alongside traditional curriculum.Course Content: The course is composed of theoretical study, practical work involvement, and experiential learning. It covers essential topics such as managing the impacts of organisational change, improving organisational performance, selecting and developing organisational members, facilitating learning and development in organisations, and conducting psychological research in organisations. Key Modules: Key modules include Selecting and Developing People, Research Methods for Occupational Psychologists, Organisational Change and Transformation, Leadership and Performance Management, and Design and Environment.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). It’s also a first step towards chartered status as an occupational psychologist and membership of the Division of Occupational Psychology.Future Careers: Graduates can pursue a range of careers in consulting, human resources, and management positions across a range of organisations, from small enterprises to multinational corporations.
