MSc Environmental Change and International Development

The Environmental Change and International Development MSc course at The University of Sheffield is a full-time program that enables students to understand the effects of environmental change on developing countries. The course develops an understanding of the issues which arise in the interactions between the environment and sociology and prescribes requisite strategies for managing them. Course Content: The course comprises an introduction to ecological and social theories, the complex interactions between the environment, society, and development, and the different factors effective in environmental change.Key Modules: The 180-credit program includes core modules such as Environment and Development, Understanding Environmental Change, and International Development Field Class. Students also engage in optional modules like Political Ecology, Environmental Policy and Governance, International Crisis and Reconstruction, and Conservation and Development among others. Future Careers: Graduates from this course can find opportunities in a number of different sectors such as international development and environmental management, in both the public and private sectors. They can work as project managers, environmental consultants, policy advisors, researchers or international development consultants.
