MSc Civil Engineering and Project Management

The Civil Engineering and Project Management MSc at the University of Sheffield offers a balanced learning experience, combining the principles of civil engineering with project management skills. Graduates of this course are expected to come out with a broader perspective in delivering quality civil engineering projects.Course Content: This course is composed of two semesters of lectures, tutorials, laboratory work, and seminars. Afterwards, students will work on an individual research project. There is also a Study Tour abroad, giving students the opportunity to learn about civil engineering projects in an international context.Key Modules: Modules in this course include Civil Engineering Management, Group project, Research project, Structural Analysis, Concrete Structures, and Advanced Geotechnical Engineering among others.Accreditations: This programme is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators (JBM) comprising of the Institution of Civil Engineers, Institution of Highways & Transportation, the Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation on behalf of the Engineering Council as meeting the requirements for Further Learning for a Chartered Engineer (CEng) for candidates who have already acquired a partial CEng accredited undergraduate first degree.Future Careers: Graduates of this course can expect to find jobs in a wide range of industries such as contracting companies, consultancies, project management, oil and construction services companies.
