Mphys Physics with Philosophy

The Physics and Philosophy MPhys course at The University of Sheffield is an innovative mix of two intriguing disciplines. Over four years, students gain an in-depth knowledge of physics, exploring everything from quantum physics to the nature of matter, while also delving into the deep, critical thinking of philosophy. In the first year, you'll take introductory modules in physics and philosophy before moving onto more advanced topics in the following years. In your final year, you'll have the opportunity to complete a dissertation in either subject. Students will study modules in development, including Advanced Quantum Mechanics, From Newton to Einstein, and Metaphysics.Key Modules: Some of the key modules in this program include Classical Fields and Particles, Special Relativity, Quantum Mechanics, and Modern Physics and Philosophy.
