The Public Health (MPH, PG Certificate, PG Diploma) course offered by the University of Sheffield is designed to expand the knowledge and skills of aspiring public health professionals. This full-time course lasts for 12 months and aims to develop students' understanding of public health practice and their ability to initiate action and influence public health decisions. Course Content: The course is made up of lectures, seminars, and group work, in addition to individual project work. Students would have the opportunity to work in a multisector and multidisciplinary environment. The curriculum includes epidemiology, evidence-based policy, health promotion, health economics, and management. There is also an optional module in communicable disease control and non-communicable disease management, mental health, and health care evaluation.Key Modules: Some of the key modules include Health Needs Assessment, Health Promotion and Public Health, Health Economics and Management, and Research Methods for Public Health. The taught modules are completed from September to June and are assessed by an in-course assessment.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Agency for Accreditation of Public Health Education in the European Region (APHEA), which demonstrates that it meets high international standards in public health education.Future Careers: The course prepares students for a career in organizations such as the Department of Health, National Health Service (NHS), and World Health Organisation (WHO).
