The Musicology MA is a postgraduate degree program offered by the University of Sheffield. This course gives its students the opportunity to engage in the study of music as a cultural, social and historical phenomenon. It enables students to delve deep into the critical and analytical work in the domains of world traditions, popular music, opera, and more. Course Content: This full-time master's program covers a historical exploration into musical styles, genres and repertories, gives exposure to ethnomusicological perspectives of world music traditions, explores methodologies of music analysis, and introduces technologies used in the field of music. In addition, students have the opportunity to conduct a guided research project on a topic of their interest.
