MA Global Journalism

The Global Journalism MA at the University of Sheffield is a full-time, one year course that focuses on journalism as a global activity, providing the skills necessary to practice this craft in a world context. The course is designed to equip graduates with a deep understanding of the diverse and emerging challenges in the field of media globally.Course Content: The program's content consists of intensive training sessions and workshops emphasizing practical skills, such as news reporting and feature writing. There is a high level of engagement with primary source materials, in-depth research, digital journalism, global journalism, and journalism politics. Students get to deal with real-life projects, developing expertise in their area of journalism interest. Key Modules: The key modules of this course include Global Journalism; Journalism Politics; Journalism Issues; Journalism Dissertation; Journalism Work Experience; and Journalism Portfolio.Accreditations: The Global Journalism MA course is regulated by the Office for Students (OfS) and the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA).Future Careers: Students of the Global Journalism MA have gone on to work in multiple national and international media outlets, either as practising journalists or as media analysts or researchers.
