The Early Modern History MA at the University of Sheffield offers an in-depth study of the history during the era 1450 to 1850 spanning across different continents. This course is primarily research-focussed and allows students to specialize in their topics of interest. Course Content: The course includes examining areas such as consuming passions, royal and princely courts, religious cultures and deviance in early modern Europe, and archaeological theory and interpretation. The program also places a strong emphasis on research skills, offering insight into manuscript, print, and oral history sources as a part of the course. Students also have to undertake a personally devised research dissertation as part of their study.Key Modules: The course offers three core modules: 'Research Presentation', 'Approaches to Early Modernity', and 'Directed Reading'. Other modules include 'Practising Historical Research', 'Dissertation in History' and a range of optional modules giving freedom to pursue personal interests.
