The Architecture MArch course at the University of Sheffield is a two-year program designed to further impart the theoretical principles, design investigation skills and knowledge gained during the undergraduate degree, thereby completing the academic base of architecture. This culminates in the production of a comprehensive design study, drawing upon and encompassing much of the material contained in the preceding studies.Course Content: The course combines studio-based design projects with gaining knowledge about architectural history and theory, advanced architectural design and design applications. The first year of the course introduces methodologies and concepts, providing grounding knowledge, while the second year provides scope for a student to set their own agenda for inquiry in their final year thesis. Key Modules: Core modules include Design 4, Integrated Urban Design Project, Environment and Technology, Management, Practice and Law, Building Conservation and Regeneration, Urban Design Project, Advanced Architectural Design, and Topical Studies. Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects, providing exemption from Part 2 of the ARB prescribed Examination in Architecture. Future Careers: This course prepares students for a wide range of careers in architectural practices, design practices, construction, conservation and regeneration agencies, and consultancies, local and central government, creative industries, and research and teaching institutions. For more information about this course, please visit the official course page.
