The Logistics and Supply Chain Management MSc is a course provided by The University of Sheffield. This course equips students with the expertise and skills to manage and improve the efficiency of operations in logistics and supply chain systems. The program adopts a multidisciplinary approach, giving students exposure to a wide range of disciplines relevant to the study of logistics and supply chain management.Course Content: The course comprises 180 credits spread across taught modules and a dissertation or project in the final semester. Students are required to take core modules in Semester 1 and Semester 2. The dissertation module allows students to apply the knowledge and research skills gained during the programme to a relevant issue in logistics and supply chain management.Key Modules: The core modules include Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Freight Transport, Urban Infrastructure and its Management, and Research Methods, among others. The optional modules include Telematics, Port Administration, Logistics Systems, Urban Infrastructure, and Its Management.Accreditations: The course is accredited by The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK) and offers full exemption from the Institute’s education requirements for Chartered Membership (subject to holding an appropriate first degree).Future Careers: Graduates of this course go on to work for logistics companies, manufacturers, retailers, shipping and offshore companies, freight forwarders, port authorities, insurance and risk management, and in the public sector.
