The BEng Electronics and Computer Engineering program at the University of Sheffield is designed to equip students with the ability to apply the fundamental principles of electronics and computer engineering in order to solve engineering problems. This three-year, full-time undergraduate course will allow students to work on sophisticated development projects. Course Content: The curriculum combines principles from both electrical engineering and computer science, starting with fundamental principles and integrating these to solve real-world engineering problems. Students learn how to design, build and test integrated hardware and software systems. In the third year, students work in groups on a sophisticated engineering project, supported by a personal project.Key Modules: The course includes modules like Mathematics, Electronic and Electrical Circuits, Introduction to Digital Electronics and Microprocessor Systems, Introduction to Java and Object-oriented Programming, Software and Hardware Modelling, Advanced Digital Systems, and Individual Investigative Project, among others.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) on behalf of the Engineering Council for the purposes of meeting the educational requirements for registered engineers.Future Careers: The graduates of the program often get roles in design and development of hardware, software, and systems in industries. They can also work in sectors such as the embedded systems industry, the information technology sector, or any business that uses or manufactures electronic equipment or computer systems. Some students also go on to complete a PhD.For more information on this course, please visit the official course page.
