Aerospace Engineering with Industrial Placement Year BEng is a four-year course offered by the University of Sheffield. This course provides students with a broad understanding of the design and operation of different types of aircraft. The industrial placement year allows students to gain practical experience in the aerospace industry. Course Content: The course includes a wide range of topics in the aerospace field. In the first and second years, students study core subjects including aerodynamics, aircraft structures, flight mechanics and design. In the third year, students undertake an industrial placement year where they have the opportunity to apply the skills learned in the classroom in the real world. In the final year, students can choose optional modules based on their specific areas of interest.Key Modules: Some of the key modules covered in this course include 'Aerospace Structures', 'Flight Mechanics', 'Introduction to Aerodynamics', 'Introduction to Propulsion', 'Stress Analysis', and 'Flight Control Systems'.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) meeting the educational requirements leading to Chartered Engineer (CEng) status.Future Careers: Graduates of Aerospace Engineering with Industrial Placement Year BEng typically follow career paths in the aerospace and associated industries, in design, research and development, consultancy, and testing. For more information on this course, please visit the official course page here.
