The BA in Korean Studies and Japanese is a unique undergraduate program offered by the University of Sheffield. This course aids students in obtaining a deep-rooted knowledge of two intriguing and increasingly important cultures in the world. This course is a full-time program that takes four years to complete.Course Content: The BA in Korean Studies and Japanese offers a deep dive into both languages along with an opportunity to study these languages in their home countries to help students achieve fluency. The course includes modules on Korean history, society, politics and culture. Combined with intensive Japanese language modules, it helps students to understand both the traditional and contemporary aspects of these countries. Key Modules: Some key modules the course consists of include Understanding Korea: Politics, Culture and Society; Communicating in Japanese; Contemporary Korea: Issues and Debates; Contemporary Japan: Cinema and Society; Introduction to East Asian Religions; and Japan’s Modern History. Accreditations: Though the course does not provide any specific accreditations, it does enable students to spend a year in Japan or Korea to improve their foreign language skills and to have a better understanding of the society, culture and business practices of the chosen country.Future Careers: Graduates of this course have a wide range of career opportunities. They can work in global businesses, government, NGOs, tourism and hospitality, education, translation and interpreting, and much more.
