The MChem Chemistry programme at the University of Sheffield equips students with the necessary knowledge and skills to address some of the world's major challenges, including energy provision, health, and environmental sustainability. This is achieved through rigorous theory classes and comprehensive laboratory training. Course Content: This course immerses students in Chemistry, providing them with a thorough understanding of the subject across the four main branches: organic, inorganic, physical, and analytical chemistry. They will learn about both the theory and practical applications of these branches, as well as cross-disciplinary topics in fields such as materials science. The first two years cover the fundamentals, after which, in the third year, students specialise in areas that particularly interest them. In the final year, students conduct their own research project.Key Modules: Key modules include Inorganic and Physical Chemistry, Organic and Biological Chemistry, Practical Chemistry, Sustainable Chemistry, and Advanced Topics in Inorganic Chemistry.
