The International Relations and Politics BA at the University of Sheffield is a course that combines two deeply interconnected subjects, helping students understand the nature of power, decision-making and system behavior in today’s world. This course challenges students to consider their role in the world, understand the complexities of power, and develop the skills to influence decision-making at a local, national, and global level.Course Content: With the International Relations and Politics BA, students will engage with the great questions of power, peace, war, the economy, democracy, development, interdependence and globalisation. All these are studied both in theory, by focusing on the concepts and ideas that have shaped our understanding of the political world, and in practice, by examining their relevance and use in current public policies and debates.Key Modules: The core of this course lies in modules such as Contemporary International Relations Theory, International Institutions and Policy, World Politics, Global Capitalism: Past, Present and Future, and Global Development: Theories and Case studies.Accreditations: This course is recognized by the UK government and therefore qualifies for student finance.Future Careers: A degree in International Relations and Politics can lead to numerous career paths.
