The MA Applied Theatre course at the University of Plymouth is designed for early career artists, educators, and community workers interested in using theatre in educational, social, and community settings. This course provides an excellent platform for theatre-making, collaboration, and outreach activities.Course Content: The course offers a dynamic mix of practice and theory, which allows students to explore the potential of using drama in both formal and informal learning scenarios, in various community settings, and for social action and political purposes. In addition to this, the course includes work placements and projects in the South West, London, or even abroad.Key Modules: Core modules in the course include Applied Theatre in Context, Applied Theatre: Theories and Practices, Advanced Research in the Arts and Humanities, Dissertation, Supporting Studies, as well as a host of optional modules from performance training, directing, and devising.Accreditations: The MA Applied theatre at the University of Plymouth is a fully accredited course by the Higher Education Academy.Future Careers: Graduates from the MA Applied Theatre course have progressed to a range of careers including theatre in education, drama therapy, community theatre, and theatre for social change.
