BSc (Hons) Geography

The BSc Geography course at the University of Plymouth works to develop understanding and application of geographical theories, methodologies, and principles. This course gives students the opportunity to investigate the complexities of the natural and social world, learning from experienced and enthusiastic academics. Course Content: The course focuses on both human and physical geography, with years one and two covering a broad spectrum of geography, while the final year allows students to specialize according to their own interests and career ambitions. The curriculum also includes fieldwork, projects, and trips.Key Modules: Some key modules within the course include Earth System Science, Global Environmental Issues, Principles of Human Geography, and Geographical Skills and Methods. Students are also able to undertake a funded work placement module over a summer.Accreditations: This course is accredited by the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG), providing a mark of quality and relevance to the sector. Future Careers: This course prepares students for a variety of careers including work in conservation, environmental consultancy, government agencies, research, planning and development, and tourism.
