The Creative Writing and Contemporary Craft undergraduate course at Liverpool Hope University is designed to help students explore various forms of writing while understanding the process and techniques of contemporary craft. The program nurtures students' skills in both creative writing and contemporary craft, guiding them with their individual projects and preparing them for future careers in a wide range of creative fields. Course Content: The Creative Writing and Contemporary Craft course focuses on developing skills in different writing forms including poetry, prose, play scripts, among others. In terms of contemporary craft, students learn about a range of approaches to individual projects. Topics such as the relationship between the maker and audience, contemporary craft markets, roles of craft within societal and cultural contexts, and ethical issues related to this field are also covered.Key Modules: The course includes modules such as Writing Poetry; Writing Prose; Writing for Performance; Modern Craft: Materiality and Making; Craft in Contemporary Art and Fine Art Practises; and Critical Approaches to Contemporary Crafts.
