BA (Hons) Law and Politics

The Law and Politics course at Liverpool Hope University is a combined honors program designed to give students a thorough understanding of the interplay between law and politics. It provides a balanced examination of the coursework related to both subjects, encouraging critical thinking, judgment, and effective communication and negotiation skills.Course Content: The course is divided into levels 4, 5, and 6. At Level 4 students gain a solid foundation in both subjects; including Principles of Law, Public Law and Comparative Politics. Level 5 deepens understanding through modules such as Criminal Law, Rights and Responsibilities, and International Relations. The final level, Level 6, includes a dissertation in Law or Politics and specialist modules such as Immigration Law.Key Modules: Some of the important modules covered in this course are Principles of Law, Public Law & Civil Rights, Comparative Politics, and Criminal Law. Other modules include Employment Law, International Relations Theory & World History, and Legal Methods.Accreditations: Although the course is not specifically accredited by professional bodies, it equips students with a variety of skills relevant to a wide range of sectors.Future Careers: This course prepares students for various career paths in both public and private sectors.
