BA (Hons) History and Law

The History and Law undergraduate course offered by Liverpool Hope University is an interdisciplinary program that explores the nature, role, and interpretation of historical events while developing students' legal understanding and skills. This joint honors program allows students to explore the society through legal, social, political and historical viewpoints.Course Content: The degree consists of equal parts History and Law, with study themes across both disciplines being linked to develop your understanding. It offers a variety of optional modules, giving flexibility for students to cater their learning according to their interest. The course provides an immersive learning experience via a number of study visits and field trips. Key Modules: This unique program combines modules from both faculties, such as Legal System & Method, English Legal System, British Economic & Social History and Public History. The history curriculum allows exploration right from the late Roman era up to the present day, whereas the law curriculum covers fundamental aspects of English Law, UK Law, and European Union Law.Accreditations: The course is recognized by authorized entities which ensures a good academic and professional standard. Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Bar Standards Board have recognized this course as a qualifying law degree.Future Careers: The course prepares students for diverse career possibilities in law firms, government services, non-profit organizations, teaching, journalism and financial or business sectors.
