The Acting and Politics course at Liverpool Hope University intertwines the creative growth of the actor with awareness of social and political themes. This unique approach to drama allows students to understand the context of the texts they’re performing, equipping them with the analytical skills to consider the social and political background of different plays that they engage with throughout their study.Course Content: The course allows students to study drama from a variety of theoretical, historical and practical perspectives, including play texts, performance and theatre production, and explorations of political theory. Students are also encouraged to make theatre as directors, writers, and actors. Key Modules: Key topics in the curriculum include the actor and the text, theatre and performance theory, drama and performance practical project, political philosophy, modern political thought, and global politics.
