The English Literary Studies: Nineteenth Century MA at the University of Southampton is a full-time course that allows students to deepen their knowledge of 19th-century literary and cultural history. The course is also available part-time.Course Content: As part of this course, students examine prose, poetry, and drama, in addition to cultural developments and contexts, from the period 1789 to 1910. The program aims to assist students in making the most of the resources available at Southampton, including the Wellington Archive and Chawton House Library, which are significant repositories for the study of nineteenth-century studies.Key Modules: The course includes Compulsory modules such as Nineteenth Century Literature: Romantic to Victorian, Research Skills and Methodologies, and Nineteenth Century Literature: The Fin-de-siecle to Modernism.
