MSc Social Research Methods with Demography

The MSc Bioarchaeology course at the University of Southampton provides students an opportunity to investigate human and animal remains and place them in their archaeological context. This program is of one year full-time, but can also be pursued part-time over 2-3 years.Course Content: With core and optional modules, the course focuses on developing practical skills in human osteology and zooarchaeology. It allows students to explore issues such as diet and disease in past populations. Along with this, the program also includes a major independent research dissertation.Key Modules: The course comprises several modules including Bioarchaeological Science Laboratory Methods, Osteoarchaeology: Method and Practice, Advanced Zooarchaeology, Humans: Evolution and Environment, and Palaeopathology in Context.Future Careers: Graduates from the MSc Bioarchaeology course often progress onto further research degrees in related fields.
