The Occupational Therapy (Pre-Registration) Masters MSc at the University of Southampton is a two-year full-time accredited course that includes a blend of classroom and practice-based learning. This course equips students with the skills and knowledge they need to become advanced occupational therapists who can help people dealing with illness, disability or social difficulties to live life to the fullest.Course Content: The course is taught with a combination of lectures and practical classes, case studies, group work, and structured independent learning. Students will have to complete a dissertation in an area of occupational therapy of their choice. They'll also go through 1000 hours of practice- based learning through three placements where they'll work under the supervision of qualified occupational therapists and other health and social care professionals.Key Modules: The core modules of the course include Occupation in Context, Applying Occupational Science, Practice Placement Review, Covering Critical Inquiry and Research in Health and Social Care, and Dissertation Occupational Therapy.Accreditations: The course is accredited by the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) and approved by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).Future Careers: With an MSc in occupational therapy, graduates are eligible to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) to practice as an occupational therapist.
